Serie A Club Review: Napoli

Recap
The recently concluded season was a mixture of success and near misses for the Partenopei. It was excellent and at the same time disappointing. But overall, Rafael Benitez and his men were able to live up to expectations.
The 2013/ 2014 almost left Napoli in a severe crisis when Edinson Cavani decided to play for France’s big spender, AS Monaco. His loss left a gaping hole in the club’s attacking department. Yet, Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival immediately filled the void that Cavani left. Topping Napoli’s scoreboards, the Argentine star delivered seventeen goals (17).
The previous season also saw Napoli featured in the Champions League. It impressed the crowd when it stunned Borussia Dortmund, which was the competition’s runner-up. Napoli’s rampage, however, did not last as it fell out of the Group Stage and in its quest for the Scudetto. A more determined Roma outlasted them in the ranking and a stronger Juventus successfully defended its title.
Despite the shortcomings, Napoli ensured that it would not go home empty-handed. The club brought home the Coppa Italia silverware and made history for being the only team to win the trophy for the 5th time.
Match to remember
As mentioned, to be crowned as king of Coppa Italia is one of the squad’s smost unforgettable matches.
Match to forget
Aside from exiting the Champions League, losing to Parma, which is an evident least online bettingfavorite compared to them, was something unworthy of being remembered and cherished.
