Fiorentina vs Lazio Prediction: Fiorentina Still Strong Even Without Valero And Montella

Fiorentina and Lazio

Fiorentina is chosen as the online bookie’s favorite over Lazio. Betting at 1.92 is a profitable one as the Viola is most likely to exploit their home court advantage despite the absence of Borja Valero and Vicenzo Montella.

Match Date: 02 March 2014 (local time)

Venue: Artemio Franchi

Team Form

The Violas will have to deal with Lazio without their head honcho, Vicenzo Montella and midfielder, Borja Valero.

A down the wire match against Parma resulted in a pitch ruckus between Borja and Gianni Munari. Although both have their share of their red cards, it was Borja who suffered the most as he was handed with a 4-match ban. In an effort to lower the player’s ban, even Montella will have its taste of missing the club’s next match.

Fiorentina, however, is fortunate enough that they will be playing in their own ground and minimize the effect of the said decision.

Lately, an inconsistent Fiorentina have been gracing the pitches of Serie A, which is quite unlikely to happen if one has to consider their previous performances. The club is still, one of the league’s elite though. But losing, winning and forcing a draw twice in their last six (6) matches is a concrete sign of lackluster performance that can be easily taken advantage by other clubs.

Fiorentina and Lazio

Lazio survived a thriller when they fought against the resilient Sassuolo. The match could have ended in a draw, but thanks to Paolo Cannavaro’s own goal, they were able to secure a victory effortlessly.

The Biancocelesti currently sits at the 10th spot of the Serie A table and hopes for another win to ensure a strong finish this season.

Prediction: Fiorentina

Montella and Borja may be out, but Fiorentina will less likely to throw the white towel at home. However, expect a down the wire match as Lazio still have a hangover from their thrilling win against Sassuolo.
