2014-2015 Serie A Predictions: Week 15 (Part 1)

Palermo vs. Sassuolo
Match Date: 13 December 2014 (local time)
Venue: Stadio Renzo Barbera
Â
Palermo’s performance against Torino garnered utmost praise after forcing their opponent to settle for a scoreless stalemate. This has been the squad’s third consecutive draw and so far, this has generated a positive effect to their rank. It must be noted that the squad is undefeated in its last six (6) matches and this further increases their confidence in the upcoming match. And with Paulo Dybala showing impeccable skills on the pitch, Palermo will most likely bring home the three (3) points in the said clash.
Unfortunately, the squad cannot rest on its laurels. Like them, Sassuolo is also eager to snatch the three (3) points. They have no reason to be intimidated despite playing in a different ground since they also did well in their previous match.
Pitted against the online betting favorite, AS Roma, Sassuolo was able to make life difficult for the title contenders. Many were expecting a thrashing, but the Neroverdis stunned everyone else when they were able to clinch a draw. Similar to Palermo, it was also their 3rd draw in the last six (6) matches. They (Sassuolo) also flaunt an unbeaten record.
Considering the quality and form of these teams, one can expect an even steven finish. Sassuolo may feature. But the host will definitely give them a hard time.
Prediction
Palermo 1-1 Sassuolo

Lazio vs. Atalanta
Match Date: 13 December 2014 (local time)
Venue: Stadio Olimpico
Lazio’s win over the minnow, Parma, readily increases their confidence in facing Atalanta. Sitting in the 6th spot of the league table, Lazio is keen on keeping its winning ways to reach their European ambition. Lazio’s last six matches have been a roller coaster ride. Characterized by inconsistent displays, the team experienced disappointing losses in the hands of struggling squads. However, it seems that things will change for the better.
As for Atalanta, the club is in dire need of a win. This is despite the fact that they have only lost once in their last 6 matches. The problem lies with the reality that most of their undefeated matches ended in a draw. This hardly helped them in improving their rank. Currently, the squad occupies the table’s 15th spot and struggles to veer farther away from the relegation zone.
Atalanta can pull off a challenge against Lazio, but it will not be an easy one, considering the fact that they’ve only won twice in their last 6 meetings with Lazio.
