2014-15 Serie A Match Preview: AC Milan vs. Sassuolo

Both considered as among the most resilient clubs in Seria A, Milan and Sassuolo are also among the least consistent. The sides have had some stunning performances throughout the season, but they also produced some mediocre maneuvers that put their supporters to dismay.

AC Milan

Former Serie A champions and the current season’s early frontrunners AC Milan have never ranked below the top seven since the competition kicked off. While they may have been knocked out of the top position by their rivals (especially Juventus and Roma), I Rossoneri nevertheless remain a major threat to most of the league’s participants. In the 2014 segment of the top-flight football alone, they managed to pull off 25 points from just 16 matches. However, the score still does not qualify them for a UEFA berth and must therefore exert more efforts to reach Serie A’s summit (or at least its higher slopes) again.

U.S. Sassuolo Calcio

I Neroverdi ended 2014 without a single win. All their three top-flight matches in December finished with very little or no success at all. While they may have drawn with Roma and Cesena, they were rendered empty-handed by Palermo. These, along with their past mishaps, inevitably placed them at the bottom half of the table, although not devastating enough to pull them down into the drop zone. Their skills in aerial duels are remarkable, but their knack for possession remains moderately compelling.

Sports betting tip: Between Milan and Sassuolo, the former have a better scoring record. Expect this fixture to be dominated by the home side.
