Freiburg and Stuttgart spent the last three weeks of Bundesliga almost in contradicting fashion. While the home side have twice seized a clean sheet (against Cologne and Schalke 04) before drawing with Mainz 05, the away team failed to score at least one goal and succumbed to their nemeses: Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, and Augsburg. The sides currently rank 14th and 18th in the league table, and while this apparently does not make them top contenders for the Bundesliga title, it is showing signs of life for Breisgau-Brasilianer. Die Schwaben, by contrast, will have to find significantly better tactics to power up their voltage as they are at high risk of being relegated from the league.

Football betting tip: Freiburg will earn all the marbles against Stuttgart.

Bayer Leverkusen vs. FC Cologne

Match Date: 29 November 2014 (local)

Match Venue: BayArena

Although still 10 points far from the top spot, Bayer Leverkusen have a good shot at ending the year (or perhaps, the entire season) as runners up. They currently rank fourth in the league but they are level on points with Monchengladbach and only three points away from Wolfsburg. However, there is an issue on inconsistency that they need to address. The past five Bundesliga weeks have been a roller coaster ride for Roger Schmidt and his men. While they won against Schalke and Hannover, they were held in a draw by Stuttgart and Mainz. Under the hands of Hamburg, they incurred a goalless defeat.

Cologne have won three times from their five most recent battles in Bundesliga, although they also suffered a defeat twice. At number 11, the side are in an insecure place in the competition. Sure, they boast of better standing and form than seven other clubs, but that will not change the fact that they have a dilemma on their defense—seen more obviously in their unimpressive goal difference. However, with a little improvement in their tactical plan, Peter Stöger’s men could go back in the comforts of the top half.

Sports betting tip: Cologne will fall prey to Bayer Leverkusen’s sharp talons.
