Toulouse’s football campaign in the past season was dramatic and high-pressure. They struggled in the first few weeks of the tournament when they had to move mountains in order to get themselves out of the relegation zone and gain back the trust of football betting enthusiasts. But as the season progressed, they eventually found enough traction to remain in the French top-tier competition, even ranking ultimately within the top half of the league table.

TFC entered the season with five consecutive weeks of zero victories. Their curtain raiser rendered them goalless while conceding three goals to Valenciennes, then picked up only two points from the brawls against Bordeaux and Monaco before they were again subdued by their rivals in their fourth match, this time against Bastia.

Alain Casanova’s men’s first victory came on 20 September 2013 when they scored two goals and conceded only one to Saint-Etienne. The following week, they again earn all the spoils with a triumph against Lorient. They spent their last five fixtures in the season drawing with Lyon and Nantes, succumbing to Montpellier and Guingamp, and winning over Valenciennes.

New signings during the 2013 summer transfer window included defender Uros Spajic from Red Star Belgrade and midfielders Oscar Trejo from Sporting de Gijon and Mihai Roman from Rapid Bukarest.

Meanwhile, seven players (including those who wer loaned from other cluibs) left the side to play for other teams. They were Adrien Rabiot (returned to PSG), Yannick Djalo (returned to Benfica), Umut Bulut (to Galatasaray), Franck Tabanou (to Saint-Etienne), Daniel Braaten (released), Adil Hermach (to Al-Hilal), and Etienne Capoue (To Tottenham).

Although Toulouse barely made it to the top nine, they produced the league’s second best scorer (tied with four other footballers), Wissam Ben Yedder who netted 16 goals throughout the season.
