2014-2015 Ligue 1 Predictions: Week 18 (Part 5)

AS Monaco- week 18

Guingamp vs. Paris Saint Germain

Match Date: 14 December 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade du Roudourou

Guingamp

Guingamp may be nearing the relegation zone, but its recent victory against Reims gives them all the confidence they need in facing Paris Saint Germain (PSG). There may be a wide gap between the two in terms of their form and overall performance, but as they say, everything is possible in football.

Paris Saint Germain

There’s the overt reality that PSG is always tagged as the top pick of sports betting sites in every match where they are involved. It is obvious why this scenario constantly happens. First, they are the defending champion and most importantly, they continue to perform well. Just recently, they snatched a victory against Nantes, which helped them pressure Marseille in retaining the top spot. And with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who seemed to miss the pitch so much, stopping this squad will prove to be a difficult one.

Prediction

Guingamp  0-3 Paris Saint Germain

AS Monaco- week 18

AS Monaco vs. Marseille

Match Date: 14 December 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade Louis II

AS Monaco

AS Monaco earned another win to propel its rank to the 7th spot of the league table. Such scenario can be considered as a major improvement on from the club since they’ve been overly depending on draws lately. Three (3) of its last six (6) matches ended in a stalemate and was later on followed by a loss that readily affected their position in the league table. But with the win (first against Lens and next with Toulouse), AS Monaco is definitely, back on track.

Marseille

A strong Marseille emerged out of the battle against the newly-promoted Metz. The victory enabled the squad to maintain a strong grip of the table’s top spot and at the same time, keep Paris Saint Germain at bay. It’s easy to say that they have the advantage over Monaco, but with its neck-to-neck fight with PSG, it’s still too early for Marseille to count the chickens before they’re hatched. With its one-point lead against the defending champion, Marseille is compelled to win every match in order for them to clinch the trophy this season.

Prediction

AS Monaco 1-1 Marseille
