Tottenham Hotspur’s recent spells in the English top-tier football have been near-perfect, with excellent showings in both of their first two league matches for the new season. Against West Ham, the side scored the only goal of the match; against QPR, they netted four goals which eventually turned out to be a clean sheet. These accomplishments happened so much to their favor that they currently sit at the summit of the league table. Eric Dier, Nacer Chadli, and Emmanuel Adebayor were Spurs’ top players and are currently among the tournament’s best scorers. Liverpool, meanwhile, trailed their stunning debut against Southampton with a frustrating follow up versus Manchester City 3-1. None of the squad’s players netted a goal in the tourney and if not for Zabaleta’s own goal, they would have been rendered goalless. The poor defense allowed Stevan Jovetic to score a brace and Sergio Aguero to deliver his second league goal of the season.

Football betting tip: Although Spurs are statistically superior of Liverpool based upon their recent achievements, they could be held by their rivals in a draw from this fixture.

Leicester City vs. Arsenal

Match Date: 31 August 2014 (local)

Match Venue: King Power Stadium

Newly promoted Leicester City seem to be finding it hard to acclimatize with the rigor of the English top-flight competition, as seen in their not-so-stunning performances in the tournament’s opening matches. The Foxes have only accumulated one point from all their efforts, which they attained after drawing with Everton 2-2 in their league debut. More recently, they were beaten to death by Chelsea who lorded over them via clean sheet. Arsenal, meanwhile, posted a triumph in their season debut but only forced a draw in their subsequent battle. The four points seized from these results—as well as the four goals they scored against Crystal Palace and Everton—gave them a spot in the top five as per week two rankings. The Gunners’ resiliency would be their most potent remedy to further improve their form as the season progresses.

Football betting tip: Arsenal will own this battle and Leicester City, thus, will need to settle on another winless result.
