Last year, Real Madrid and Inter Milan competed for the same Cup, with the former eventually winning the entire tilt. The sides, however, never met in any of the competition’s stages as they were seeded on different groups and Inter were eliminated even before they had the chance to go against their Spanish neighbors.
Real Madrid
The defending champions are back to the ICC to defend their title and with Cristiano Ronaldo—last year’s top scorer—confirmed to play for the side, they will be among top picks to dominate the entire tournament. Aside from the Portuguese talisman, players like Ramos, Casillas, and Modric would also be participating in the event.
Real Madrid’s most recent competitive season has generally been overwhelming. They finished as the third best side in La Liga after accumulating a total of 87 points from 38 matches, were the winners of the Copa del Rey, and most importantly, emerged as champions in the UEFA Champions League.
Inter Milan
Inter kicked off their ICC campaign last year with a disheartening defeat from Chelsea for the Eastern Group segment. On Round 2, they again incurred a wounded result after they were trounced by Valencia on a 4-0 finish. In the Championship Round, however, the side won against Juventus on penalties for the seventh place, thus ending their campaign just one spot above the bottom.
Domestically, Inter had a good season in Europe. They placed fifth overall in Serie A and reached the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia. Nerazzurri had their best league win against Sassuolo, where they netted seven goals and conceded none. They obtained seven clean sheets overall, scored 45 times, and attained a goal difference of +18.
Online betting tip: Real Madrid could pull off the better stunts against Inter.
