2014-2015 Bundesliga Predictions: Week 14 (Part 4)

FC Cologne vs. Augsburg

Match Date: 06 December 2014 (local time)

Venue: RheinEnergie Stadion

FC Cologne

The Billy Goats is yet to recover from a defeat to the capital club (Hertha Berlin) when it received a thrashing from Bayer Leverkusen. Their second consecutive defeat cannot be easily forgotten since  five (5) massive goals were slapped into their face. Such scenario creates a significant impact in their campaign since it severed the club’s goal difference.

Considering this aspect at hand, Cologne’s only option is to win as many matches as they can and if possible, win BIG to ensure that they’ll retain their Bundesliga status.

Following their narrow defeat to Schalke, Augsburg made a spectacular response via snatching three consecutive wins. The effect of the said response propelled the club into the fourth spot of the league table, which is a huge improvement from what they achieved last season.

Should Augsburg continue such magnificent performance, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them participate in the Champions League qualifiers next season.

FC Cologne 1-3 Augsburg

SC Paderborn 07 vs. SC Freiburg

Match Date: 06 December 2014 (local time)

Venue: Benteler Arena

SC Paderborn 07

It is pretty understandable for Paderborn to be disappointed with the result of their previous match. The squad suffered a 4-0 loss to Werder Bremen and has already slipped out of the top ten (10). Paderborn is also winless in its last three (3) matches, thus, further compelling them to clinch a win in the upcoming match.

SC Freiburg

Stefan Mitrovic lost it during their match against Stuttgart. He committed several errors, which their opponent exploited and converted. In addition to this, Mitrovic will also miss the encounter against Paderborn after being sent off on the 68th minute in its previous clash.

Although Freiburg has the experience to make them the outright online betting favorite, winning over Paderborn will not be easy. Like them, they’re also eager to win and they wouldn’t let such opportunity to just slip into their fingers—well, not in their own territory.
