THE LATEST SPORTS NEWS – The Football Association gave England and Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole a £90,000 fine over posting an invective against English football’s governing body on his Twitter account.

Cole, who has played past through rival Poland in his 99th cap for England last Wednesday, earlier issued an apology over his social media rant. FA chair David Bernstein acknowledged the player’s apology, calling it a “real remorse” for what he has done.

The controversial Twitter post refers to Cole’s evidence for John Terry’s racism case. The FA found the left-back’s evidence questionable, prompting the player to criticize the ruling body with an expletive.
