Arsenal went past through hosts and Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion 2-3 in the FA Cup, enabling them to feature in the fifth round of the competition. Both sides have met for the first time in 30 years.

Brighton pushed Arsenal into pressure throughout the game, as they responded to leads provided by Olivier Giroud’s brace through goals from Ashley Barnes and Leonardo Ulloa. Theo Walcott broke the deadlock through a late-game winner.

Wenger’s 68th-minute changes proved crucial to their victory. Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain exited for Jack Wilshere and Walcott, but Giroud’s essence as the main scoring threat prevailed towards the end of the match.
