Scottish side Celtic and Romanian club Astra are off to their very first meeting for the UEFA Europa League. On an international level, the squads do not differ that much but as per their recent forms from their respective domestic leagues, major differences can be seen.

Celtic

Celtic are the current co-leaders of Group D, boasting of four points which they obtained from their win against Dinamo Zagreb and a stalemate with Red Bull Salzburg. They are level on points and goal difference with the latter, although the Scottish team managed to concede fewer goals than their group rivals. At the premiership, Celtic have only lost twice since the new season opened, winning five times along the process. They rank fifth in the domestic league. They have also earned a three-goal clean sheet against Heart of Midlothian in the League Cup.

Astra Giurgiu

Conceding seven goals and winning zero matches in the Group round of the Europa League, Astra were inevitably buried in the Group table’s bottom spot. This follows their unappealing form from all competitions; thus far, they have not yet won a single match in their past five battles, with losses incurred from Liga I, Cupa Romaniei, and as mentioned, UEL. Although they rank fourth in the Romanian top-flight tournament, they lack the necessary skills to dominate tourneys outside their national boundaries.

Champions League betting tip: Celtic will earn all three points against Astra.
